Calcium may becme a dieter's best friend

Our calcium supplement contains calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and vitamin K. I am not a huge supporter of the current trend toward massive doses of calcium. Based on my expertise with neurological inflammation, I find that large doses of calcium can actually be detrimental to the body. All the calcium in the world will not get to where it is needed in the body without sufficient vitamin D and vitamin K. It is my suspicion that many people who believe they are calcium deficient are actually low on the fat soluble vitamins D and K. As we age, our ability to break down fats and assimilate these vitamins may decrease. Taking high doses of calcium can also deplete the body's stores of magnesium. Magnesium is helpful for the heart, for blood sugar levels, for migraines, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, for muscle cramping and for the prevention of asthma. Our calcium supplement contains vitamin D and vitamin K to help with the absorption of calcium, as well as a ratio of 750 mg of calcium to 500 mg of magnesium to help keep these mineral in balance. For those who desire a 1:1 ratio of calcium to magnesium, you can add one of our 250mg magnesium supplements. While there have been reports that calcium helps with weight loss, it has also been reported in the literature that there is an inverse relationship between osteoporosis and hormone sensitive cancers. What this study implies is that the higher the bone density, the greater the risk of breast cancer. This is another reason to use moderation with respect to calcium.
