Folic Acid

While folic acid is generally included in most B complexes, it is worth considering additional supplementation of this particular B vitamin. Folic acid helps to reduce homocysteine. High levels of homocysteine are risk factors for heart disease. Folic acid is important in helping to prevent neural tube defects and in helping to prevent colon cancer. It is also involved in the important methylation pathways in the body.
