Magnesium

helps to block the flow of calcium into the neurons. It is this flow of calcium into the neurons that ultimately leads to the inflammatory cascade and nerve death. Some individuals find that they have loose stools from too much magnesium. Conversely, magnesium is useful for constipation, particularly in individuals with Parkinson's disease. Magnesium is helpful for the heart, for blood sugar levels, for migraines, PMS, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, for muscle cramping and for the prevention of asthma. I personally am concerned about the excessive amounts of calcium that many individuals are ingesting. I believe it may be causing magnesium deficiencies, which in my opinion are more dangerous. We also carry a topical magnesium sulfate cream that may be useful for replenishing both magnesium and sulfur after swimming in chlorinated pools.
